Prpl Up Media is a family-owned creative venture founded by Benjamin and Silvia King — two parents inspired by their daughter. Driven by a shared love of storytelling and imagination, they set out to create story-driven content that encourages children, nurtures values, and sparks curiosity — all with a playful, quirky twist.

Based in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, Prpl Up Media is the parent company of Prpl Up Pup — a playful, purpose-driven world where young readers discover courage, creativity, and connection through engaging stories, lovable characters, and digital content designed for today’s families.

In 2024, Benjamin — an accomplished fashion designer and creative leader from Lakeland, Florida — wrote and illustrated Up, Up, Pup!, a children’s book inspired by his daughter’s natural curiosity and adventurous spirit. The book’s main character, a lovable purple pup, quickly became a symbol of imagination, bravery, and being true to oneself.

Silvia, a marketing and communications professional originally from Lima, Peru, brought her strategic storytelling skills and brand experience to the project. Together, the couple combined their talents to launch Prpl Up Media — a company rooted in the belief that stories can shape hearts and leave a lasting impact.

The King family moved to Tuscaloosa in early 2025 after Benjamin accepted a new professional opportunity. Shortly after settling in, they launched Prpl Up Media and began preparing for the debut of Up, Up, Pup!, the first picture book in their story-led brand. Now proudly calling Tuscaloosa home, they’re focused on building roots in the community and growing their new business.
